Games built for two-minute breaks
Not every game wants an hour of your life, and some of my favorites are the ones that don't. Short-session games are the unsung heroes of mobile: they slot into a queue, a commute pause, or the gap before a meeting.
The trick to a good one is instant resumption. You should open it, do a thing, and close it without a loading gauntlet or a five-step menu. The best of them save your state the moment you leave.
Casual mini-game bundles and puzzle titles do this best. There is no penalty for stepping away mid-thought, and the loop is satisfying in tiny doses. Anything with a long combat animation or unskippable cutscene fails this test badly.
If you mostly play in scraps of time, prioritize these. You'll finish the day having actually enjoyed something instead of staring at a loading bar.
